Aral Sea , once the fourth largest lake in the world shrank tenth its normal size . According Vohidov , the volume of the Aral Sea has shrunk by nearly 10-fold , and the water level has shrunk more than 4-fold . The water level has dropped more than 29 feet , and the shoreline has shifted tens of kilometers .
